Foreclosures
These are monthly lists of commercial real estate foreclosures in Sarasota County. They will include all kinds of commercial and investment properties, as well as residential developments of raw land or multiple lots that can be purchased in bulk. I did not publish individual residential foreclosures.
Foreclosures and bank owned properties can provide an excellent value, but they can also be difficult to work. Frequently, the properties are worth less than the amount owed in today’s market. That means when the bank sells it, they lose money, something they hate to do. Consequently, any potential sale has to go to a number of committees and layers of management for approval. It takes a lot of time and patience.
